Silver Smithing of Ta Phin Sapa

The Dao and the H’mong people are quite well known for their silver. The craft has passed down from one generation to the next and are kept secret amongst the Dao silversmiths. The silversmiths mostly make jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings or key chains.

Much of the silver jewelry you see in Ta Phin village comes from melted down French coins during the colonial period.
